Modern Lifestyle pulls you back from being healthy

Ease to live in the modern lifestyle is not yet satisfied with whatever you owe at your hands. You are experiencing a better life than earlier generations. The invention of new technologies, medicines and vaccines saves the lives of millions of people across the globe that you can undoubtedly say populations are growing up rapidly far more than earlier one. A few generations ago, if you look back, you might have heard of local doctors, priests, etc. who were the real heroes saved a million of people’s lives. However, if there were six children born in a family, the maximum two or three will be alive. Yeah, you might have heard of such stories that twelve children were born and live in a family, but most families cannot survive and bring up their children as you are experiencing right now. Many circumstances couldn’t let them grow up all their children that they didn’t have well-equipped hospitals, medications, treatments, transportation and communications as you do.

Despite such adverse time in the past, the people were strong and healthy, physically and mentally sound that people could’ve to remain alive by natural selection or anyone who can resist and adjust nature. If you co-relate with our modern lifestyle, most of you can survive without any adjustment with it. Yeah, to some extent, he/she needs to fit in the geographical climates and weather, but there are so many types of equipment and facilities that can help them.

Just for a moment, think, such rapid development was not taken-place in the field of industries, factories and technologies, what happens? Do you think is there overpopulation? Do you think is there any rapid increase in human lifespan? To my mind, if there was no development of any industrialization-and-technologization, we might have been living a healthy life. But modernization makes us easy to live with many technologies and health facilities. It seems that the failure of the dream of living for 150 years by Michael Jackson, who had appointed 12 doctors at home for examining his health from hair to toenails and were accompanied by 15 persons to look after his daily exercise and workout. It is strange to hear that he always ate food after testing in the laboratory and slept in such a bed, which had the technology to regulate the oxygen level. He had some organ donors ready so that he could have a replacement of his organs anytime. These organ donors were taken care up by him.  Despite that, his strenuous efforts for living 150 years went up in flames on the 25th June 2009 at 3.15 pm. It doesn’t matter how good facilities you owe to live; your death is 100% guaranteed, but if you use the facilities in the right place at the right time, it is better to you undoubtedly. Ask yourself, am I living a healthy life? Is it better for me? Am I taking benefits of technologies or the technologies are taking mine?

How modern life affects our physical and mental health

As per the Medical News Today, in the United States, almost half of the adults cannot imagine life without their smartphone. So, how much our lifestyle has transformed so far. Recent research by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research found that teenagers aged 13 to 17 year have shifted their preferred social media platforms and are now most likely to use Snapchat and Instagram. The interesting fact is that around 76 per cent of teenagers use Instagram, 75 per cent use Snapchat, 66 per cent use Facebook, 47 per cent use Twitter, and fewer than 30 per cent use Tumblr, Twitch, or LinkedIn. They also found that 91 per cent of teens use regular text messaging, 40 per cent also use messaging apps such as WhatsApp, Kik, or Line.

All modern technology contributes to a higher level of stresses, worries, depression, mental health problems, negative maturities and the like. And manufactured food items also add something to become unhealthy, and medication alone can’t improve our health.

Five Common Modern Lifestyle Habits that make you stick with doctors:

  1. Unhealthy diet; junk food items, injected vegetables, fast-foods, frozen foods loaded with preservatives, and skip healthy nutritious food.
  2. Lack of physical fitness or workout; 60-85 per cent of the word-wide population doesn’t engage in physical activity, WHO says.
  3. Sleep Deprivation; using smartphones, computers, laptops for longer times and watching videos on television for a long time can lead to diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.
  4. Substance Abuse: Addiction of alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, etc., maybe the source of the epidemic of addiction, depression, anxiety and chronic disease.
  5. Technology Addiction: excessive use of a smartphone, computer, laptop, internet, etc. and apart from these devices, using different machines for cooking, washing, cleaning, thereby reducing the need of human involvement and making people dependent on it, may lead to many kinds of health problems that we need to suffer..

In conclusion, we need to have ease of modern lifestyle.  But we shouldn’t allow modern lifestyle to have ease of us. So, use technology based on your needs but not on the availability of your free time.

Stay Healthy and young, live long!
